A murderer has been arrested in the killing of a couple. The police revealed that they suspected the man of also murdering an Ohio mother and her two daughters this weekend.
Authorities confirmed that an arrest warrant was taken out for George Brinkman on two counts of murder in the deaths of of Rogell and Roberta John, of Lake Township, Ohio.
The police managed to hold Brinkman into custody around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday after an hours-long standoff with police in Brunswick, Ohio. Brunswick police told PEOPLE that Brinkman had allegedly barricaded himself in a home within the locality.
The police authorities wanted Brinkman in connection with the killings of 45-year-old Suzanne Taylor and her daughters, Taylor Pifer, 21, and 18-year-old Kylie Pifer, who were found dead Sunday night in their home in North Royalton, Ohio.
Officials in Stark County, Ohio announced that Brinkman allegedly murdered the Johns in their home shortly after he allegedly killed Taylor and her children. Rogell and Roberta were found dead by Rogell’s son, the couple had come home the day before from a vacation. Brinkman had been asked by the couple to house-sit while they were gone.
Rogell’s son went to visit the couple having not heard from the couple since they returned. Stark County officials believe the couple’s slaying occurred after Brinkman allegedly killed Taylor and her daughters.
Detective Dave Loeding of the North Royalton Police Department told PEOPLE that the bodies were found in their home’s master bedroom, under the covers, as if they’d been tucked into bed. Loeding also revealed that Taylor appeared to have died after sustaining a knife wound while her daughters’ causes of death remain unknown.
Maier told reporters that Brinkman was trusted enough to watch over their home while they were on vacation, he also revealed that Brinkman had previously dated the Johns’ daughter and worked at the family’s business for a number of years.
