The Vice President visited Houston, Texas to talk about the Trump administration's future plans in space. In his own words, the United States is heading back to the moon to install a permanent base. Pence spoke at NASA's Johnson Space Center on Thursday about plans to send humans back to Earth's natural satellite.

America will lead mankind to the stars once again. This proposed mission would mark the first time a human has set foot on the Moon in almost half of a century. But Pence's aspirations for NASA didn't' stop there, he also wants to commission a similar base on the red planet Mars.

"While our sights are once again set on our lunar neighbor, this time we're not content with just leaving behind footprints," Pence said. He added that "the time has come … to establish a permanent presence around and on the moon." The idea for a moon base certainly isn't new, NASA already has a plan outlined for a "Lunar Orbital Platform-Gateway" that would help make future trips more feasible.

Pence also recently spoke at the Pentagon about plans to pick a logo for the new United States military branch, the Space Force. Although, the Vice President didn't mention any military plans at the event since NASA calls for its activities in space to be "devoted to peaceful purposes for the benefit of all mankind."

Both NASA and the administration's moon and Mars missions were laid out in the Space Policy Directive, the first of its kind that was signed in December by President Trump. The new directive seeks to work with private companies like Moon Express, SpaceX, and Lockheed Martin. The first phase would see astronauts set foot on the moon to begin preparations for the Moonbase. After that, the directive sets its sights on Mars.

how about saving earth before going back to the fucking moon?

Anonymous No. 35172 1535298446
tab - I am afraid the only way to save earth is via a massive population reduction along the lines of 30-45% gone. But we encourage the cruel and destructive plan by feeding and supporting people in lands that cannot support that amount of life without massive aid. And the idiots just spawn more offspring and complain they are not getting enough aid, then eventually get hauled to mostly white civilized countries to continue their destruction, dependence and breeding program. Maybe the moon base will be the hotel room while the main house is getting fumigation applied?
