Offenburg, a small (50,000 inhabitants) German border town near the French city of Strasbourg, was caught up in scandal this week after a 26-year-old (some reports state 24) Somali refugee stabbed a popular doctor in front of his 10-year-old daughter.
Hundreds showed up for an AfD organized protest in front of the city’s town hall to declare they’ve had enough of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open border policy which they feel has led to an increase in crimes in the region.

The left-wing Die Linke organized a counter-protest, but both sides respected each other in their grief and anger over the regrettable murder.
The case has been met with widespread disbelief in Germany as the doctor was known for his pro-refugee ideology and even helped immigrants with free healthcare in certain cases. People in the normally tranquil rural town in the Schwarzwald-region (Black forest) are shocked by the events. The doctor’s assistant was also hurt in the attack and remains in hospital.

Bild, the largest newspaper in Germany, directed an editorial to Mr Wolgang Schauble, the former German finance minister who many saw as the next in kin after Merkel during the 2010-2012 Euro crisis. Mr Schauble, who still commands a lot of respect in the ruling CDU/CSU party of Chancellor Angela Merkel hails from the town of Offenburg.

Tabloid newspaper Bild often referred to as the underbelly of the German people was quite direct and stated: “Wolfgang Schäuble is Offenburger, former Minister of the Interior and Minister of Finance. He gave many people the confidence that the government in Berlin protects them. Now there is a shadow over his home town.”

the 'good' doctor deserved it! just goes to show how smart people can be foolish.
The liberal mind cannot EVER accept the fact they can think, say or do something that can be conceieved as an error or just wrong. Their attitude toward open borders reflect a mindset that is similar to that of the young couple bicycling through ISIS territory believing that there is no evil in the world. They were killed. A liberal believes this is a fluke and would not occur again. You cannot debate them as they can never be wrong. Thus, the issues that are occurring throughout in every country around the world.
