Rescuers in Thailand have started an operation to bring out the trapped 12 children and their football coach out of the Tham Luang caves after two weeks. They expect to get out the first rescued person out of the cave by 9 p.m. tonight, local time.
Rescue chief Narongsak Osotthanakorn said: “Today is D-day. The boys are ready to face any challenges. We are at peak readiness.”

Narongsak said the boys and their coach, Ekkapol Chantawong are physically and mentally fit for the rescue attempt. Water levels in many areas in the cave are currently low, making today the best chance for the rescue to be carried out.

The plan is to divide the football team to be rescued into four groups. The first group will have four people, while the second, third and fourth will have three people each. Each boy will be escorted by two divers. The adult coach will be the last trapped person from the team to be brought out of the cave.

Narongsak also shared that the evacuation decision was made after consultations with all relevant parties concerned, including Seal members, the medical staff and families of the trapped persons.
Scores of divers were seen entering the cave after dawn on Sunday.
Officials appeared to have abandoned all extraction plans except for helping the boys to swim and dive the approximately 5km from their refuge inside the cave to the outside world.
Various experts in the world have been weighing in on the rescue efforts including technology guru Elon Musk.
