The Police in Houston have identified a man in who was shot in the head while sleeping in his home at 7200 block of Wiley Road as 42-year-old Kevin Desso. Witnesses say a vehicle that was driving down Wiley Road fired shots at Desso's home. Family members say Kevin Desso is a father of 10 and remains in critical condition. He is currently only able to move the left side of his body.
Doctors were forced to remove part of his skull to relieve the swelling near the gunshot wound. His wife woke up when she heard the gunshot and thought it was more 4th of July shots in the neighborhood but when she tried to wake up Kevin, she realized he had been shot. Several shots hit the family's car and home including one that went through the wall, into his bed's headboard, and hit Kevin in the head.

De'Shanell Ridley, Desso's daughter said, "She looked. That's when she flipped him over and realized he had been shot in the head, he's fighting for his life. What could you say? I want to ask them why. What was the reason? Why?" Investigators have not announced a motive or any suspects at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call and report it to the HPD Major Assaults Unit at 713-308-3600. Tips can also be reported anonymously to the Crime Stoppers line at 713-222-TIPS.
