Berlin was put on high alert yesterday afternoon after police shot a knife attacker in the capital’s cathedral. A huge police force was called in soon after, and the highly popular tourist attraction was immediately closed.
A few hours later police stated that it did not believe the action was terrorist-related but gave no further details.

Today the footage of the cathedral shooting has leaked online. In it, you can see a man brandishing a knife inside Berlin's main cathedral. he is quickly surrounded by two policemen and the first one tries to hit him with pepper spray but the man does still continue his stabbing rage. After he turns his attention to the second police officer, this one shoots him in the leg.

Berlin police declared in a statement that the man with the knife, a 53-year-old Austrian who cannot be named for legal reasons, was "yelling and causing damage" before being shot in the leg shortly after 4;00 pm.

At the time of the incident, some 100 people had to be evacuated from the landmark Berlin Cathedral in the heart of the German capital.
"Based on what we know so far, we have no information that the suspect in any way had a terrorist or Islamist motive," a police spokesman said.

The shooting comes as Germany continues to be on a state of high alert for jihadist attacks after several assaults claimed by the Islamic State group in the country have taken place in recent years.

OH wait never mind there's no such thing as islamic extremism, just confused miniorities. And its our fault cause we didn't cater to them adequately? Maybe they need more $$, maybe if we gave up our property to them they wouldn't try to kill us and rape our children? It must be our fault right??
