California – Cessna Makes Emergency Landing On Huntington Beach Road (Video)

A single-engine Cessna 172 plane which had just taken off from nearby John Wayne Airport had to make an emergency landing just minutes after departure and was, as by wonder, able to land safely on a street near Hamilton Avenue and Magnolia Street, startling residents around 5 pm Friday afternoon.

According to the explanation from the Federal Aviation Administration, the pilot of the plane made the emergency landing after her engine had lost power in mid-air. She made the call to land on the street and ended up at the intersection where startled onlookers took pictures and videos of her expert landing.

Resident Mr Alex Perazzo stated: "How did it not crash? Wow, how did it not hit the power lines?"

One of the witnesses who was included in the police report, Mr Tory "TJ" Johnson claimed: "This could have been really, really bad."

"Flew underneath all those wires, which is a pretty big deal. Those wires hang down pretty low and could have killed the power throughout this entire block. It was pretty gnarly."

Huntington Beach police complimented the pilot on her landing, calling it a ‘fantastic job.’ They also claimed that “obviously this could have been much worse.”
