A young man named Sherell L. Lewis Jr. was picking up debris from a Louisiana highway this week when he got run over and later died of his wounds.
The incident involved an 18-year-old pickup driver who bragged about the hit and run on Snapchat afterwards, as can be seen in screenshots obtained from the social media site.
Young Mr M. Martin, of Hineston stated: “Y’all i just hit a whole guy on the highway.”
When a friend of his asked about the identity of the victim, Mr Martin wrote back: “some n—r.”

Mr Martin “No he died otw to the hospital.”
Louisiana State Police officials confirmed that they were aware of the Snapchat exchange but that their investigation was still ongoing.
Vernon Parish Sheriff Mr Sam Craft: “I am appalled at the content of the social media messages that were posted after the incident.”
“This post is unacceptable and has no place in our society. The inflammatory words that were used were morally wrong. I have the utmost confidence in the Louisiana State Police and their ability to thoroughly investigate this incident.”
NAACP leaders of Louisiana meanwhile stated their outrage over the posts, posted only minutes after the accident with a 2003 Chevrolet pickup.
Lake Charles NAACP President Rev. J.L. Franklin: “It’s horrendous. Our prayers are with the family, no doubt about that. But what is most devastating is the aftermath of that. The posts.”

What the guy said was appalling but it also takes a special kind of stupid to waltz around on a busy highway. The "good Samaritan" should have called the police and stayed in his car with the flashers on if afraid someone would hit the debris.
Also if the tables were turned and a black guy hit and caused the death of a white guy and subsequently posted "just killed a cracker and messed up my caddy" wouldn't even be reported. Well maybe it would have been reported but the headline would have been "dumb driver gets out of his car on busy highway and was struck and killed by a driver. The deceased family will have to pay for repairs to his truck"
