It’s Memorial Day, let us remember our family, friends, and fallen heroes in their eternal rest.

Let us especially remember the fallen of Benghazi.

Lest We Forget Benghazi

3/28/12 Ambassador Gene Cretz requests upgraded security assets at Benghazi.

4/6 Terrorists throw an IED over the consulate wall.

4/19 Secretary Hillary Clinton refuses the Cretz request.

5/22 A Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) strikes International Red Cross offices.

6/6 An IED explodes outside the U.S. Consulate wall.

6/7 Ambassador Chris Stevens asks that two security teams be kept in Libya.

6/11 An RPG strikes the British Ambassador’s motorcade. The UK closes its consulate.

6/15 State declines to renew the security team contract.

7/9 Stevens cables for military security team assistance, but the teams are not extended.

8/2 Stevens sends an urgent cable requesting a protective bodyguard, saying the situation is, “unpredictable, volatile, and violent.”

8/5 State orders removal of Stevens’ security team.

8/8 Stevens tells State violent incidents are “targeted and discriminate.”

8/16 The Regional Security Officer emails Clinton’s office about the “dire” situation.

8/27 State issues travel warning for Libya.

9/10 Al Qaeda leader Zawahiri calls for Libyans to revenge the death of his deputy.

9/11 Stevens warns State of the deteriorating situation in Benghazi.

9/11 7:30p Benghazi Time (BT) Stevens meets with a Turkish diplomat.

8:00p Terrorists set up checkpoints around the U.S. Consulate.

8:30p Stevens’ meeting ends.

8:40p First shots are fired. Stevens calls Hicks in Tripoli: “We’re under attack.”

10:05p (4:05p Washington Time (WT) State notifies White House (WH) and intelligence agencies: “US Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi under attack.” Consulate is in flames. Stevens is missing.

10:30p (time approximate) Sean Smith is found dead.

11:00p (5:00p WT) Obama, Biden, Panetta meet at WH. Consulate is abandoned.

11:30p (5:30p WT) Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, and five others leave Tripoli for Benghazi. The body of Stevens is found and taken to the hospital.

9/12 12:36a (6:06p 9/11 WT) DOD emails that Ansar al-Sharia claims the attack.

1:30a (7:30p 9/11 WT) Doherty and Woods et al. arrive in Benghazi.

2:00a (8:00p 9/11 WT) Clinton calls Libyan President about the Ansar al-Sharia attack.

4:00a (10:00p 9/11WT) Doherty and Woods are killed on the roof of the annex. Clinton issues a statement blaming Internet video for the attack.

5:12a (11:12p 9/11 WT) Clinton emails Chelsea about an Al Qaeda attack on Benghazi.

9/12 Clinton emails the Egyptian Prime Minister the attack has nothing to do with the video. “It was a planned attack—not a protest.”

9/12 WH blames a video for attack; Clinton blames heavily armed militants. Obama condemns the attack in the Rose Garden—does not call it a terror attack. Obama affirms his Rose Garden evasion to Steve Kroft of “60 Minutes.” He leaves for a Las Vegas fundraiser.

9/13 Obama and Clinton stand with families as the bodies of Stevens, Smith, Doherty, and Woods are received at Dover AFB. Clinton: “an awful internet video we had nothing to do with.”

9/14 Jay Carney tells media WH has no information suggesting a pre-planned attack.

9/14-15 WH, State, CIA prepare talking points for administration use.

9/16 Susan Rice blames Internet video for Benghazi attack. Clinton maintains this view through 9/20.

9/21 Clinton says it was a terrorist attack for the first time.

9/25 Obama tells the UN the attack occurred because of the Internet video.

10/12 Obama: “GM is alive, bin Laden is dead, and Al Qaeda is on the run.”

11/6/12 Obama is re-elected.

1/22/13 Clinton: “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

2/1/13 Clinton leaves as U.S. Secretary of State.

The Benghazi story’s unalterable facts lead to certain observations; Secretary Clinton repeatedly and recklessly denied requests for standard and upgraded security protection for her ambassador and his staff. Would the four have died had she done her duty? The heroes that were on the ground say “no,” and I agree!

BEFORE THE ATTACK

Hillary Clinton Failed to Realize the Risks in Benghazi

Hillary Clinton was in charge, knew the risks of the deteriorating landscape in Libya, and did nothing. A Diplomatic Security Agent in Libya described security at the Benghazi compound as "woefully inadequate" and "completely insufficient." And contrary to the election-year narrative that Al Qa'ida was "on the run," Clinton was briefed daily on the rise of extremism and the failed legacy of policies she considered her crowning achievement.

"The intelligence on which Kennedy and the Secretary were briefed daily was clear and pointed-Al Qa'ida, al Qa'ida like groups, and other regional extremists took refuge in the security vacuum created by the Libya government and its inability to take command of the security situation.”

Despite the high level of risk in Benghazi, the mission was stationed in an "off the books facility that met no required security standards." Requests to improve security languished within the bureaucracy of Clinton's State Department.

Every warning sign was in place for Hillary Clinton and the Obama Administration to see that the Benghazi compound was a ripe and inadequately protected target.

DURING THE ATTACK

Washington Abandons Americans Under Siege

During the attack, officials in Washington were slow to respond to the crisis and bogged themselves down with political considerations. Newly revealed evidence made available in the report makes clear that no effort was made by officials in D.C. save American lives, to evacuate survivors, or retrieve Ambassadors Stevens' body.

The order to deploy rapid response teams by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and President Obama became muddled as high ranking officials discussed the political implications of marines in uniform entering Libya.

One team sat on a plane for hours and changed in and out of their uniforms four times as the attack raged on.

With Ambassador Stevens missing and attacks still in progress, the White House held a two-hour meeting largely focused on the "inflammatory" YouTube video, even though none of the information coming from individuals on the ground connected the attack with protests or the video.

No official U.S. assets would come to the aide of Americans in crisis. No attempt was made to save their lives, and no steps were taken to ensure or assist in the evacuation of survivors.

"No U.S. aircraft aided in the evacuation of the U.S. personnel or remains from Benghazi to Tripoli because no U.S. aircraft ever made it to Benghazi.”

In the end, it was former Gadhafi intelligence officers that rescued fleeing Americans as decision makers in Washington took no action.

"It is astounding the men on the ground in Benghazi that night were not going to leave without recovering Ambassador Stevens’ body, yet decision makers in Washington D.C. believed that all personnel was going to evacuate Benghazi immediately.”

THE INVESTIGATION

Clinton and the State Department Stonewall

Hillary Clinton knew the night of the attack that it had nothing to do with an internet video, and yet she shamefully pushed this false narrative to the American public and the victims’ families.

The next day she is quoted in a private conversation with the Egyptian Prime Minister that dismisses any link between the Benghazi attacks and the video.

Clinton's Statements to Egyptian Prime Minister Kandil at 3:04 p.m.:

"We know that the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a protest. Based on the information we saw today we believe the group that claimed responsibility for this was affiliated with al Qaeda."

Amazingly, the day after Ambassador Stevens became the first American ambassador to be killed in the line of duty since 1979, President Obama passed on his daily intelligence briefing, which described the attack as an "intentional assault and not the escalation of a peaceful protest."

Knowing this, the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton would still lecture the American public for days about the dangers of an insulting and politically incorrect video, while absolving themselves of the blame.

THE AFTERMATH

Clinton and Obama Pushed False Narrative About An Internet Video

In the weeks and months after the attack, as multiple authorities tried to get to the bottom of what happened, the Obama administration was busy stonewalling at every turn.

With the 2012 presidential election nearing, the Obama administration had every incentive to prevent the public from knowing exactly how they had failed so badly.

The House Committee’s ultimate conclusion was that “the State Department's failure to adhere to federal law and its own policies governing record management significantly impeded the committee's investigation."

In other words, the “most transparent administration in history” refused to cooperate with the committee as it tried to do its job.

Central to this stonewalling was Hillary Clinton’s secret email server. The use of unofficial email accounts by Clinton and her senior staff, as well as the State Department's failure to be forthright about these accounts, all helped delay, and in some instances, prevent, the committee from accessing records about the Benghazi attack.

"It was not merely Congress and the people it represents who were misled and manipulated, the State Department and the Secretary's email arrangement undoubtedly delayed access to information on what happened to four brave Americans in Benghazi and the government's response before, during and after the attacks.”

Senior Clinton staff members also improperly influenced the course of the investigation. Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills hand-picked members for the State Department’s Accountability Review Board. The review board also kept no transcripts of their interviews, making it impossible to know who said what to them.

In the end, the Benghazi Committee worked to leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of what happened. It’s a discredit to Hillary Clinton and the Obama Administration, and a major disappointment to grieving families that they were so comfortable keeping the truth of what happened from the American people.

With radical Islamic terrorism again on the march, we can only imagine how horrible the state of our Country would be in if we had entrusted Hillary Clinton with the security of our entire nation.

It is a disgrace complicit Democrats want us to forget, but the rest of us can make it possible for the whole truth to be told. We can avenge Stevens, Smith, Doherty, and Woods with our votes in November.
