A man in Upper Darby, Philadelphia almost got away with robbing a bank but got busted in the end due to his boasting of the crime while having celebratory drinks at a nearby bar.
Employees at Casey’s Bar in Drexel Hill were ready to dismiss the man’s claims as nothing perhaps but drunk talking, but then they saw the police search in the area. The alert staff then they notified the police who came to the bar and identified the man as the same person they were looking for. He was immediately arrested.

The workers at the bar say the man was wandering around the bar’s entrance before its opening at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The man allegedly entered through an open door where a carpenter was working. Then he started bragging to the staff that he had robbed a bank.
It is not clear why the man was so “excited” to get inside the bar, possibly to “celebrate” his “robbing feat.” It is also not clear how many drinks he had before his “luck” ran out, and police came to pick him up after he incriminated himself to the staff.
The authorities revealed that the man robbed a TruMark Financial Bank. It is not clear how much money he took.
The man’s identity has yet to be released.
Upper Darby Police only say that the man was arrested mid-drink at the bar.
The man probably learned the hard way it’s not a good idea to rob and drink.
