Philly - Woman Learns Ex-Hubby Marries; Shoots Pregnant New Wife, Her Dad

Authorities in Southwest Philadelphia are in hot pursuit of the suspects composed of one woman and two unidentified men for the gruesome shooting of a pregnant woman carrying twins and her elderly father in what could be a case of a crime of jealousy.

The woman-suspect is identified as 25-year-old Yasmine Wilkerson with a last known residence on the 4500 block of North Hicks Street. She was also last spotted wearing a purple shirt and black and purple workout pants.

Neighbors said it was already around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday and they were already preparing to call it a night when they heard successive shots. They soon learned that their 23-year-old pregnant neighbor whose five months on the way carrying twins, and her 74-year-old father were shot.

Family members identified the shooting victims as Fred Waring and BB Waring.

Police say the pregnant victim was shot in the leg and hip. The elderly father took a lot of bullets mightily trying to protect his daughter and the babies she’s carrying.

Thankfully, authorities say the babies will be okay.

Southwest Detectives Lt. John Walker said: “The father of the 23-year-old victim jumped in front of his daughter. Obviously, he took the brunt of the injuries here. He’s currently in critical condition, been in and out of surgery all day.”

Police say the whole violence started when the 23-year-old victim posted on social media that she had just gotten married earlier that day. Her new husband’s ex-wife saw the post. She decided to just show up at the house of the Warrings with a group of people with her. An argument then ensued

The fight was broken up, and the victims probably thought it ended there. But the ex-wife and her companions came back with guns, and things just got out of control.

Authorities are now seeking the public’s help to locate the suspect Yasmine Wilkerson and also establish the identity of the men believed to be part of the shooting. Those with any useful information are requested to immediately contact Southwest Detectives at 215-686-3183.
