Students of Parkland high school took to the floor of Publix to protest the supermarket's connection to the NRA. The students called the protests where they lay down on two of the supermarkets' floors a "die-in". Students from Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school shouted "USA, not NRA!" as they disrupted the stores' ability to do business. The protests were met with pro-NRA counter-protesters who showed up to one of the stores and almost got into a physical altercation before police arrived.

"A lot of people don’t support who Publix is supporting," said of the students, a 15-year-old. "It’s going to reflect on them as a brand and people shopping there." It is one thing to protest legally but to illegally disrupt a business means you're taking away money out of employees pockets who don't have anything to do with the partnerships their employer fosters. These kids are too young to see around corners and understand the consequences of their actions.

The supermarket Publix doesn't even direct support the NRA, they support an agriculture commissioner and gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam who is a Republican and self-proclaimed "proud NRA sellout". These kids are misguided by leftist teachers who teach them to be entitled and use their youth as a tool for the left's political machine. These students aren't after safer, more secure schools, they have been told by Democrats that guns are the problem so guns are what they are after despite the fact that restricting good citizens' legal right to defend themselves doesn't stop evil people from getting one. If you are the kind of person who is willing to go shoot up a school and kill innocent children, you aren't going to think twice about acquiring a firearm that is banned. The Publix property manager was forced to call a cleaning company to come clean up the mess the protesters left behind.

Parkland student David Hogg was there at Publix leading the protests and nearly came to blows with a counter-protester named Bill Caracofe who stuck his middle finger an inch from Hogg's face. "There are millions and millions of people who don’t worship everything that comes out of his mouth," Caracofe said. If you are wondering why David Hogg keeps coming up, it is because his mother is employed at CNN which has had a huge hand in giving Hogg a platform. The protests seem to have worked and Publix announced it would suspend political donations, something Adam Putnam won't be happy about since he received nearly a million dollars in donations from top Publix executives, board members, and their family members.
