Starbucks Restroom Policy - Employees “Find Needles, Drug Baggies, Blood All Over The Toilet”

The new restroom policy within all US stores of Starbucks continues to cause controversy as many claim that the restrooms, now open to all, have become a cesspool of needles and drug deals.

Given the recent upheaval in Starbucks when police confronted two African-Americans because a barista thought they ‘looked suspicious’, the company has thought it best to open the restrooms of all their US locations to all.

However, this seems to bring with it a new set of issues, as a Starbucks employee anonymously notes that “We haven’t been allowed to change our bathroom codes since April. So almost all the junkies and homeless people know the code now. About once a week we find needles, drug baggies, blood all over the toilet or walls.”

The company’s Executive Chairman Howard Schultz was aware of the issues, explaining that "we don't want to become a public bathroom.”

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Starbucks overcorrecting its isolated restroom incident has naturally led to another disaster <a href="https://t.co/S86vcScs7S">https://t.co/S86vcScs7S</a></p>&mdash; Eddie Scarry (@eScarry) <a href="https://twitter.com/eScarry/status/998899756595384320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 22, 2018</a></blockquote>

The coffee chain realized immediately that such is a risk they now run, given its new policy of opening its space to all, whether those paying customers or not.

Mr Schultz stated: "We're going to make the right decision 100 percent of the time and give people the bathroom key."

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">You no longer have to buy something at starbucks to sit or use the restroom at their stores - gamechanging for all New Yorkers tbh <a href="https://t.co/uO5HeQGsOD">https://t.co/uO5HeQGsOD</a></p>&mdash; Ellie Kaufman (@EllieCKaufman) <a href="https://twitter.com/EllieCKaufman/status/998528077905977349?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 21, 2018</a></blockquote>

<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The company even made an official statement on the issue, after many customers had voiced their displeasure over the recent state of certain restrooms given the new regulations. Starbucks claimed: "The key piece here is that we are asking customers that when using a Starbucks space, we respectfully request they behave in a manner that maintains a warm and welcoming environment by using spaces as intended, being considerate of others, communicating with respect and acting responsibly."

This is an excellent start! They are true pioneers. I hope they keep this up even after we see their coffee shops become ground zero for infectious disease, drug dealing, and murder.

I am sure many, but not all of *Buck crowd is noting these issues at some Metro and inter-city locations.

But honestly many of us guessed that this, like too many other Liberal PC policies, would backfire.

It is simple logic that this would result negative press.

Because when Liberals are involved in Group Think PC they refuse to honestly acknowledge some elements in our society will abuse kindness and will continue to behave vastly different than minimum acceptable standards of what is being offered to them.

Likely what will happen is simple.

The Liberal yuppie customers will quietly find other coffee shops that post the Restroom Usage Rules on the front doors and maintains a clean, healthy and safe place for its customers.

Why are we not seeing the same complaints regarding other fast food establishments that have ALWAYS had open door policies?
