The news headlines in Europe today are all screaming bloody murder and the front pages of most newspapers show the deaths in Gaza rather than the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem.
Certainly in France, Germany, Belgium and the UK, many are focused on the bloodshed yesterday as well as the harsh words of Hezbollah this morning who vowed to ‘avenge’ the 55 Palestinians killed during those protests.
In the European capital Brussels, the national news network RTBF had, therefore, asked Ms. Simona Frankel, the Israëli ambassador, for a radio interview which can be seen via the source link.

In the interview, conducted in French, she says that the dead who fell yesterday during riots at the border with the Gaza Strip were "all terrorists".

On the deadliest day in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since the war in 2014, 55 people were killed, including 8 children.
Ms. Frankel, in her own words, stated: “the death of every human being, even that of the 55 terrorists who tried to cross the border yesterday is regrettable."
When the interviewer pushed further, asking whether the children could also be called terrorists, Ms. Frankel did not hesitate: "All! These children are being held hostage by the terrorist organization Hamas. They send those people to their death. They have decided to sacrifice their brothers and sisters in a highly mediatized war.”

The Israeli army stated at the end of the protests that it estimated some 40,000 Palestinians took part in the riots at its fence in the Gaza Strip. They furthermore stated that all soldiers followed "standard procedures" to stop said Palestinians from trying to penetrate the fence.
