A man from Southern Utah has been arrested and brought to jail after being caught horrifically and deplorably performing a sex act on a vulnerable 2-year-old child last week at the toddler’s home in Washington County.
The man behind the vile act has been identified as Jason Nez. A probable cause statement says that Nez had been out drinking in Mesquite when he came to the child’s home at the early hour of 5 a.m.
Nez had access to the home since the child’s mother knows him.
The mother could not have had an inkling that Nez was up to no good. Her worst nightmare came when at about 5:20 a.m., she was awakened by the noises her two girls ages 2 and 3 were making in their own bedroom through the baby monitor.
The mother got up to see the girls at the other room and was horrified to see Nez performing a sex act on the 2-year-old while the 3-year-old was awake.
An altercation between the furious mother and Nez occurred until the horrible pedophile left the house. The mother then immediately called the police and then also left to take her babies to a safe place.
Police actively looked for Nez throughout the day but they couldn’t find him. He turned himself in after several days of being wanted by law enforcement.
Nez then told the police that he could not recall fully what happened on that fateful early morning. He said he only knows that “he did something wrong.” He also admitted to the police that he “needs help.”
Nez is now booked in Washington County Jail and has been charged with first-degree felony sodomy of a child and class A misdemeanor lewdness involving a child.
He is scheduled for his first court appearance on May 14.
It is not clear how Nez is known to the mother of the victim- if he is a relative or family member, or a friend.
It was not indicated if Nez had a previous history of sexually abusing children or babies. One thing’s for sure, though, now- he should not be let alone anywhere near babies and children.

Instant death penalty is what that scum deserves! We can't fix these predators and prison is no punishment. What kind of punishment is free room and board? We need to go back to the old days punishment for these freaks. Eye for a eye! So he will go to prison for a little while and get out worse than he was before. Our punishment system is a joke, They should all at least get castrated and put to hard labor for life! Time to get tuff on these freaks!
