Germany – Streets Closed off As Wiesbaden Shop Promotes Opening With 1 Cent Hamburgers (Video)

The owner of a new Hamburger restaurant in Wiesbaden thought he had found a novel way to promote the opening of his place. He had invited a local rapper to perform in front of the restaurant and in the two hours before the concert, he would be selling hamburgers at the giveaway price of 1 eurocent. He expected some 200 people to show up.

The poster that he had hung on the window of his hamburger restaurant to promote the event was soon picked up by a local social media star and spread around Wiesbaden. Yesterday, at the moment of the concert, some 3,000 people arrived all wanting a hamburger, enough for local police to be forced to close down the city centre.

When local Wiesbaden-based rapper Eno183 started performing at 6pm, the centre was still overrun with people wanting a hamburger even though they had been sold out a long time ago by then. Eno183 started playing to great thrills of the crowd whilst ever more people started arriving, unknowing that the restaurant by that time had decided not to sell any more burgers.

After some 20 minutes of rapping, Eno183 was proud to proclaim that "we have turned Wiesbaden upside down," after which police decided to prematurely shut the show down to ensure the safety of all as the streets became too crowded.
