First lady Melania Trump is ready to get down to serious business as she is set to announce her formal initiatives at a White House press conference on Monday.
FLOTUS’ spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said that Melania’s agenda will focus on the well-being of children. Grisham added: “The unique aspect to this rollout is that she’s not choosing just one topic as has been done in the past.”
The statement from Grisham also said that Melania wishes to help the next generation by creating change through awareness on a variety of issues that affect children.

First ladies usually choose a cause or issue to focus on during their husbands’ respective presidencies. Michelle Obama for one opted with “Let’s Move” campaign to encourage exercise and healthy eating, while her predecessor Laura Bush’s picked childhood literacy initiative.
Melania is set to make her announcement from the Rose Garden which will mark the first time ever that she has spoken from the said location. Rose Garden borders the White House West Wing and has become known as a location for historic ceremonies and announcements.
Melania also committed to work in fighting cyberbullying. She first started expressing her concern about the issue as early as during her husband’s presidential campaign in 2016. She said then: “We must find better ways to honor and support the basic goodness of our children, especially in social media.”
She has been criticized about an objective since some say her own husband, President Trump no less, has a penchant for lashing out at his enemies on Twitter. Melania stood her ground and answered critics with: “I am well aware that people are skeptical of me discussing this topic. I have been criticized for my commitment to tackling this issue and I know that will continue. But it will not stop me from doing what I know is right.”
