Ted Cruz Gets Behind Wall and Pushes For El Chapo To Pay For It

President Trump’s vision for a border wall has just received a nearly perfect finance plan from Senator Ted Cruz. The Senator has a lucrative plan to use seized assets from drug kingpins such as El Chapo, who was recently extradited to the U.S., to fund the border wall as well as border security.

The idea is that U.S. prosecutors are looking to allocate $14 billion in drug profits and other assets of El Chapo’s. This will also be complemented by other drug traffickers and high-level figures in cartels’ assets have also been seized and would be part of the financial haul. The El Chapo act stands for, Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order.

Senator Ted Cruz pointed out that fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border. The successful implementation of the idea would be a huge win for Trump’s administration and would help us build the wall.

A $14 billion forfeiture of illicit profits and other assets from Guzman is being sought by U.S. prosecutors. Senator Cruz tweeted saying that the fourteen billion dollars will go a long way towards building a wall that will help keep Americans safe.

Guzman, who is currently awaiting federal trial, was extradited to the United States in January and for moving nearly 500 tons of cocaine across the U.S.-Mexican border, among other charges. Guzman is renowned for his second escape from a Mexican prison in 2015, which featured a mile-long tunnel and a motorcycle track.

President Trump intends to use the border wall as an instrumental tool for curbing drugs from pouring into the U.S. and poisoning the youth.

The U.S. government considers Guzman to be one of the most powerful drug lords of all time. He was head of the Sinaloa cartel. The bill comes at a time when funding for the border wall threatens to shut down the government if Congress can’t reach an agreement by Friday.

Senator Ted Cruz named the bill the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act. He has also created an online petition Opens a New Window. on his website.
