DALLAS — This Friday President Trump addressed the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting in a speech that served as a rallying cry to implore them to elect more Republicans to Congress and defend the Second Amendment.
Trump said that the Democrats want to “outlaw guns” and said if the nation takes that drastic step, it might as well ban all vans and trucks because they are the new weapons for “maniac terrorists.”
“We will never give up our freedom. We will live free and we will die free,” Trump said. “We’ve got to do great in ’18.”

In the aftermath of the Parkland school shooting, which left 17 dead and many more wounded, Trump temporarily flirted with the idea of stricter gun laws, but at the annual convention, Trump was clearly back on board with the NRA, pledging that Americans’ Second Amendment right to bear arms will “never ever be under siege as long as I am your president.”
Trump spoke about the Parkland shootings in his speech, saying that he “mourned for the victims and their families” and noted that he signed a spending bill that included provisions to strengthen the federal background check system for gun purchases as well as add money to improve school safety.
He also expressed his strong support for “letting highly trained teachers carry concealed weapons.”
Trump argued, “there is no stronger deterrent for a sick individual than the knowledge that their attack will end their life and end in total failure.”
Trump also touched on European cities with tougher gun laws, citing the November 2015 massacre in Paris - “if one employee or just one patron had a gun,” the citywide attack could’ve been stopped.

His speech not only touched on gun rights but also included the Russia investigation, the 2016 campaign, North Korea, Iran and his fight against illegal immigration.
“We have laws that were written by people that truly could not love our country”, Trump said.
“Democrats and liberals in Congress want to disarm law-abiding Americans at the same time they’re releasing dangerous criminal aliens and savage gang members onto our streets,” he said.

I agree 100% with President Trump. The Democratics want to control every breath we take. Taking away our gun rights will never be the answer to crime, If someone wants to murder someone by strangling them or drowning them are we going to ban ropes, cords, & water? There's no common sense solutions with the Democrats. As far as arming teachers that are comfortable with a firearm, I'm for it. I'm a college professor that teaches in a building that's floor to floor windows & nowhere to hide. No, I don't want any students getting shot & I don't want to get shot either. If I'm armed, I can protect my students & myself. That's my 2 cents.
POTUS and the Constitution are bound for eternity. There was never a doubt about the Bill of Rights.
