Harris is the latest potential presidential candidate for 2020.
The California senator, who’s in her second year in the Senate, doesn’t quite have the celebrity high profile as Sanders and Warren, but she does have more than 1.6 million followers on Twitter and nearly 1 million on Facebook.
She is pledging not to accept money from corporate political action committee, but instead, she is vigorously spending to reinforce her crusade foundation and develop supporters.
This is a tactic borrowed from the Bernie Sanders template, that he used when running against Hillary Clinton.
At a Sacramento town hall meeting, Harris was asked if she would reject donations from any corporation or corporate lobbyist, Harris replied, “It depends.”
In response, the questioner said, “Wrong answer,” and Harris replied, “That’s not the answer you want to hear. It doesn’t make it wrong.” But within weeks, Harris changed course.
In reference to the online fundraising, Harrison said, “I just continue to see the bar continuing to move up.”
In Q1 of 2018, Harris spent more than $600,000 on web advertising and digital campaign consulting. Approximately 20 months before the first 2020 primary, Harris is spending aggressively on online ads and email list development in a bid to gain potential supporters well before the campaign begins.
Harris spent about two-thirds of her incoming donations in Q1 and she has approximately 1.5 million on hand, but her online resources could help her catch up to fellow Democrats.
“Right now, I’m just focused on what’s in front of me,” she said in an interview aired Monday on WWPM-FM’s “The Breakfast Club” in New York. “I’ve seen too many people focus on that thing out there, and they trip over the thing right in front of them.”
She’s also building a base of small-dollar donors. Sanders stated his average campaign donation amount was $27. Harris says her average donations are approximately $18. Small donors make up about three-quarters of her total fundraising,
“Smart digital investments have helped Kamala Harris flip the fundraising paradigm and build a grassroots base to support her colleagues and her re-election,” said Sean Clegg, a senior Harris adviser, said in an email. “This is how future campaigns can and should be funded.”
In an email appeal to donors last week, Harris said she was “behind on our fundraising goals for the month”, a familiar tactic by many candidates, and asked for donations of as little as $3.
Harris has also used the Trump-era voter energy by angering contributors into donating. “Between trying to prevent Donald Trump from firing Robert Mueller to traveling the country to help Democrats retake Congress, there just hasn’t been much time to fundraise,” Harris wrote.
On Twitter, Harris is committed to “stealing” from hardworking American taxpayers to give “freebies” to people who don’t do anything but vote for her.

Harris reacted to the Florida Shooting, using her political platform to push for more gun laws. Where was her outrage when Obama was in office? There was Sandy Hook, Aurora, Isla Vista, and many more, yet this is all now laid in Trump’s lap and is being used against him. Liberal hypocrisy.

The 2nd Amendment was written by our forefathers for our protection against tyranny! As it stands, some states have elected to revoke the 2A “gun free states”, which is against our Constitutional Right to bear arms. Once Government gets one small law in place, it becomes a domino effect.
These are Americans’ Rights and not up for debate. Murders have occurred throughout history. Revoking the Rights of law-abiding citizens will not stop murderers. It will only allow more carnage, as people will not be able to defend themselves. It will also allow the Government a specific amount of power they were not meant to have. This pushes us further towards socialism and total Government control which is how third world countries operate. That’s not what America is about but what Obama was striving for.

She has so many things against her. Going the Bernie or Obama way, she'll NEVER win.
Using her "womanhood" (remember Hillary), she'll NEVER win.
KH is a communist like the rest of the dem party.
I really appreciate articles that are fact based & expose these liberals of who they really are. It's perfectly clear that Harris is all about votes & not American citizens. She's a copy cat campaigner with no originality or platform.
Believe you me… She is being coached by Barry Obama. Also The Southern Poverty Law Center… A left wing catch all funding monster. Additionally… Her husband passed the bar in DC last year. Another one we need to prevent from our government. I hope she does run… She will lose. But a black woman is their goal. Also keep an eye on Booker. Another one w/too much enthusiasm to destroy out constitution.
A campaign based on hate-doesn’t seem like a good platform for making the world a better place
Where have I seen this before? An articulate photogenic junior senator who comes out of nowhere and gets promoted as the 2nd coming? Don't help me–I'll think of it.
