The former comedian Bill Cosby doesn't have the best courtside manners and found himself grinning during the prosecutor's closing statements in the rape case against him. The prosecutor caught the subtle expression as any good prosecutor would and used it against him, something that Cosby should have known.
"He’s laughing like it’s funny," Montgomery County prosecutor Kristen Feden told the court as she pointed to the grinning Cosby. "There’s nothing funny about stripping a woman of her capacity to consent." The smile slowly faded from his face. "There’s nothing funny about that, Mr. Cosby," Feden said nearly shouting. Cosby slowly slumped in his seat as the gravity of his mistake sunk in.

The grinning was in response to the assistant DA telling jurors Cosby repeatedly manipulated his role as "America's Dad" to gain the trust of women so he could drug and rape them. "This man is nothing like the image he played on TV," Feden said as she stepped right up to Cosby. "He is nothing like ‘America’s Dad."
Several of his victims sat in the front rows of the courtroom listening intently. One of these women was former Temple University staffer Andrea Constand who accused him of drugging and molesting her in January 2004. "This was no mistake," Feden continued. "This was the execution of his signature plan. That previously perfected plan that had worked so well on women in the past."

Constand took the stand to explain how Cosby had offered her "three friends" inside his home in Philadelphia as a remedy for stress. She said after taking the pills she soon lost control of her body and he began molesting her. "The only person who knows what he gave her that day was him," Feden said.

"[Constand] didn’t ingest those pills so the defendant could position her on his couch, wait for her to pass out, and then position himself behind her and force his fingers into her vagina repeatedly," she continued. "Heidi Thomas, Chelan Lasha, Janice Baker-Kinney, Janice Dickinson and Maud Lise-Lotte Lublin all testified on the stand during the 12-day retrial and accused the former comedian of rape. Cosby is facing up to 30 years in prison which at 80-years-old is a life sentence.
