There's enormous news to report in the battle against child trafficking - where 153 criminals involved with international child-sex trafficking syndicate have been taken into custody - and over a dozen children have been rescued in an operation that was known as “Project Mercury”.

The arrests were made in cooperation with law enforcement agencies in the United States of America, Canada, and the United Kingdom after a series of global investigations.
Using resources from the international community, and advanced forensics equipment, enough evidence was compiled to carry the investigation into multiple countries where pedophiles were engaged in monitoring the child pornography streams.

Authorities say they were first notified after authorities with the National Crime Agency in the United Kingdom discovered a group of offenders who were engaged in the sexual abuse of children, according to Toronto Police during a press conference.
They were tipped off about illicit online activities, that eventually led to further evidence supporting a global child-sex trafficking organization who were molesting the children, with the youngest of that group believed to be only ten-months-old.

“The abuses were not only recorded and distributed, but often took place during live-streaming events, where others could actively participate, encourage, and direct the sexual abuse of these children,” added the Toronto Police spokesperson.
The national crime agency in the UK was able to identify one of the participants in those sexual abuses as being a pedophile, Mark Leonard, in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto authorities then launched a long-term undercover investigation, at which time numerous agencies cooperated in identifying several others involved in the global distribution of the child pornographic materials, according to<a href="https://globalnews.ca/news/4140431/project-mercury-child-sex-abuse/"> Global News Canada</a>.
Forensics investigators from the United States of America's Homeland Security Investigations unit then offered assistance to Toronto authorities, through both the Toronto Field Office and the Phoenix, Arizona branches.

After monitoring a live stream which depicted the sexual abuse of a six-year-old child, authorities netted the arrests of 20 individuals who had participated in those sexual assaults.
Later, in March of 2016, Toronto police Exploitation Unit later discovered additional child pornography involving an eight-year-old child, who'd been sexually abused in horrific ways.
In that case, 34-year-old Kenneth Bowman, of Saskatoon, was brought to stand trial before The Crown where the victim testified that he was injected with syringes full of narcotics prior to the sexual assaults, according to<a href="http://thestarphoenix.com/news/local-news/kenneth-bowman-injected-boy-with-needle-before-raping-him-court-hears> The Star Phoenix</a>.
Bowman was found guilty of the crimes of administering a stupefying drug in the commission of a sexual assault, as well as aggravated sexual assault, arranging to commit a sexual offense against a child, and distribution of child pornography.

Interrogations with Bowman led police in several other jurisdictions to perform a series of raids in from 2016 until October of 2017, where a dozen other pedophiles were apprehended and several children were rescued.
In the total span of Project Mercury, 153 pedophiles have been arrested, with each of the child sexual predators receiving anywhere from thirty to sixty months in prison for their crimes against children.
This is a monumental victory in the war against both child-sex trafficking and the distribution of child pornography, although it's just the tip of the iceberg in terms of how many more of these monsters still exist.
With the direction of President Trump, the United States of America's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) unit alongside the Department of Justice (DOJ) have dedicated endless resources to put an end to global child abuse.
