Belgium - Muslim Party Presents 2018 Election Program: Separation Men-Women And Sharia Law

In what many fear is a first sign of things to come in Western Europe, a Muslim political party (founded in 2012 in Brussels) has presented its program today for the upcoming communal elections in October of this year. The party called ‘Islam’ standing for “Intégrité, Solidarité, Liberté, Authenticité, Moralité” (or Integrity, solidarity, liberty, authenticity and morality) will present candidates in 40 different cities in Belgium.

The final aim of program is to turn Belgium into a 100% Islamic run state, complete with Sharia law and a clear separation of men and women. At this moment, they would settle with a separation of both sexes on public transport.

The Shariah is in violation with human rights. Shariah parties therefore are antidemocratic. Their elected official from Anderlecht (a commune in Brussels), Mr Redouane Ahrouch, explained: “When we say sharia law we don’t mean chopping off hands or obliging women to wear a headscarf, but simply a following of the way of the prophet Mohammed and the Quran.”

Mr Ahrouch confirms that his party want separate public transport for men and women: “We get a lot of complaints from women during peak transport hours, when everyone is close together on the bus. This is the reason why we are presenting this.”

The party at this moment has 2 elected officials in smaller Brussels communal boards (in Molenbeek and Anderlecht) and is aiming for many more in the upcoming elections of October. Except for 14 communes in the capital Brussels, the party leaders wish to present themselves in the French speaking cities of Charleroi, Mons and Namur.

In the northern Flemish part of the country (Belgium is a federal state with a richer northern Flemish (Dutch speaking) part and a poorer southern Walloon (French speaking) part), politicians are reacting with dismay to this plan.

The Belgian Secretary for Migration, Mr Theo Francken, stated that this program goes against all the Belgian state stands for and hopes that the election result will prove him right.
