Channing Tatum And Wife Announce Separation

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have announced their mutual decision to separate.

The couple said in a joint statement released to the media and the public: “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”

The couple met on the set of the dance film Step Up in 2006. They married in 2009. They have a daughter named Everly who is set to turn 5 next month.

The couple also added in their statement: “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision- just two best friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.”

The two also said that that they will no longer be commenting on the issue of their separation beyond their newly-issued statement. They also said they are sending their thank you in advance for “respecting their privacy.”

In a report by People, Jenna was seen still wearing her wedding ring on Monday, mere hours before their separation was confirmed. The 37-year-old World of Dance host attended a yoga class in Studio City in California with her silver band still noticeably on her left ring finger.

A source told People that Jenna “seemed a little gloomier than usual but otherwise okay” at the yoga class.

The last time the now ex-couple was seen together on the red carpet was in November last year for the premiere of War Dog: A Soldier’s Best Friend.

The couple who have been married for 9 years said that they are issuing the joint statement to set the facts straight especially in a time of “alternative facts.” They also said the only truth everyone needs to know about their separation is contained in their statement, and anything else that comes elsewhere will most likely be a work of fiction.

Many have taken to social media to express their sadness, devastation and shock over the favorite couple’s separation with some even commenting that “love is dead.”
