Sacramento – Facebook Comments About Stephon Clark Case Result In Dismissal For Nurse

The shooting of young Mr. Stephon Clark (an alleged car thief who ran from the police and was subsequently shot) continues to stir emotions in the Sacramento area. After protesters had already shut down a basketball game and occupied a highway to voice their discontent, it now appears an online activist is also actively searching the internet for public Facebook comments about the case.

We have the police body cam video of the incident in our related coverage and you are free to look at it and make up your mind. The incident involves neighbours who had called the police because they saw someone breaking into cars at night.

The police arrived and tried to arrest the man. He ran from the police into a garden (of the house that belonged to his grandparents) and was shot multiple times as police officers assumed he was carrying a weapon (which turned out to be a mobile phone).

Tensions are clearly running high over this incident and when earlier this week a young nurse called Miss Faith Linthicum posted comments on Facebook in response to the protests over the incident that ‘he was running from the police jumping over fences and breaking in peoples houses… why run??!!! He deserved it for being stupid,’ she was called out as a ‘Racist Nurse At Kaiser Roseville’ by online activist Ms. Christina Arechiga who started a movement to get her fired from her position because ‘this woman works in labor and delivery – how can we trust her with our black and brown babies?’

The Sacramento Bee wrote that: "Activist Christina Arechiga told The Sacramento Bee earlier this week that she was so disgusted by the statement from a woman named Faith Linthicum that she went to her Facebook profile to learn more about her."

After her comments were publicized and commented online, Miss Linthicum was fired from her position at Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center in California.
