The person responsible for the string of blasts plaguing Austin, Texas over the last month was located by authorities early Wednesday morning but before they could take him into custody he detonated an explosive taking his own life. Soon after, President Trump congratulated law enforcement on Twitter for stopping the bomber.

Police located the bomber after one of his packages detonated on the FedEx convener belt on the way to its intended target. The package was not intended to explode at the FedEx facility and investigators found the suspect who mailed the packages on surveillance video.

Early Wednesday morning his vehicle was spotted in the town of Round Rock but police waited for ballistic vehicles before revealing themselves. The suspect must have noticed he was being followed and began driving off.

Officers followed him until he pulled over in a ditch on Interstate 35 and detonated an explosive inside his vehicle while SWAT members approached to take him into custody. The suspect has been identified as a 24-year-old white male. Austin Police Chief Brian Manley confirmed, "we believe this individual is responsible for all of the incidents in Austin."

Manley also asked the community to remain vigilant as the possibility remains that more bombs could be out there. Manley added, "we do not know where (the suspect) has been in the past 24 hours."

The blasts killed two people and injured a number of others during the bomber's month-long campaign. No motive has been found for the attacks and the bomber made no communications regarding why he was painstakingly rigging booby-trapped packages seemingly at random.
