Donald Trump Blames Democrats for Firebomb Attack on GOP Office in North Carolina

Donald Trump has responded to the attack carried out on the Republican Party’s office in North Carolina. According to the presidential candidate, the incident was orchestrated by supporters of his rival Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party.

The attack, which was conducted through a firebomb, occurred during the weekend and targeted the GOP’s office in Orange County, Hillsborough. According to police reports, an explosive device, which consisted of a bottle filled with flammable substance, was thrown through the window of the office and burned down furniture and various campaign materials and supplies, the Charlotte Observer reported.

Aside from the bomb, the suspects also vandalized a nearby building with the words “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else.” Governor Pat McCrory considered the attack as a direct threat to the party due to its political inclination.

Following the incident, Trump took to his Twitter account to blame his political rivals for the attack.

“Animals representing Hillary Clinton and [Democrats] in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning,” he tweeted.

The North Carolina sector of the Republican Party responded to the presidential hopeful and thanked him for his support.

“Thank you Mr. @realDonaldTrump,” it posted. “We will not be silenced nor suppressed by this evil act. We will pray for those who seek to harm us.”

No one was harmed during the incident and the law enforcers have not yet made arrest related to the attack but there is reason to suspect that liberals may be the ones behind it. As noted by Politico, North Carolina has emerged as one of the highly contested states in the country during the weeks leading up to the election on Nov. 8.

Aside from the presidential position, the race for the state’s governor and senator is also very close. Furthermore, Orange County is known as one of the most liberal areas in North Carolina.

Clinton’s camp has not yet issued a response to the allegations made by Trump but condemned the act by calling it “horrific and unacceptable.”
