The hip-hop artist Juelz Santana is on the run after a run-in with TSA at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport on Friday. The incident occurred when the New York native tried to board a plane with a handgun.
When TSA officers found the handgun in his bag he took off and jumped in a cab. Santana's real name is LaRon James and he is reportedly in contact with authorities to discuss turning himself in, according to a source close to the investigation.
It is still unknown if James will turn himself in Sunday or if he is still on the run. Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo said there have been "no developments" in the case, likely meaning he has yet to turn himself in.
The rapper was seen fleeing the airport after the incident and may have gotten into a taxi after the TSA officers found a loaded .38-caliber handgun in a bag belonging to him.
The incident at the airport with authorities isn't James' first run-in with the law, in 2011 he was arrested at his recording studio in New Jersey. Police found drugs, guns, and ammunition at the studio.
