Jon Favreau To Write Star Wars Live-Action TV Series

Now is probably the best time to be a Star Wars fan with a new film releasing every year for the next several years. Now fans are about to get even more stories from a galaxy far, far away with the announcement that Jon Favreau will write and executive produce a Star Wars live-action TV show.

Lucasfilm said Thursday that the new live-action TV program is "for Disney’s new direct-to-consumer platform." Favreau commented on his new role saying, "If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you. I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure."

The company behind Star Wars said there's no release date for the show yet and Favreau is currently working on the remake of Disney's "The Lion King" which is slated to hit theaters July 19, 2019.

Favreau is widely recognized as one of the best directors out there and his multiple talents have led him to success in acting and producing as well.

In 2008, he helped launch the Marvel franchise down a massively successful path when he directed "Iron Man". Favreau even appeared in the film himself and in nearly every other Avenger film as Tony's right-hand man, Happy Hogan.

He is also no newcomer to Star Wars, besides already being a fan, he provided voice acting for six episodes of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

The addition of Jon Favreau to the Star Wars heavyweights bodes well for the franchise and social justice warriors aren't happy about it so Disney must be doing something right. SJWs on Twitter slammed Disney for hiring "another white male".

A straight, white guy is producing and writing a Star Wars series; the SJWs are going ape. You know, because your skin colour and sexuality really determine your skill as a writer and producer. Get a fucking grip, you absolute cretins. #StarWars #JonFavreau
— Tom Baird🇬🇧 (@ThomasBaird1997) March 8, 2018

Kathleen Kennedy continues to push the "more females in Star Wars" agenda, EXCEPT when it comes to making them. The hypocrisy of that should show her true interests don't lie with creating the best stories possible but rather an underlying liberal agenda

At first I thought you were making some shit up about people going crazy over another white male hire, then I found evidence on Yahoo and other news agencies. Jeez °_°
