Irish politician Mr Edmund Burke is probably best known for his famous quote which reads: “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
That one applies particularly well to the case of a Philadelphia gas station clerk who sensed something was wrong with the situation that was unfolding before his eyes and, without a moment’s hesitation, decided to act.
In an astonishing video, 25-year-old Mr Manveer Komer sees a female doctor being part of a kidnapping and decides to take action.
At first, you could think nothing is wrong when a man and a woman enter a gas station. The man even gives a friendly wave to the cashier, Mr Komer.
But when looking closely, you see that the man, the criminal in this case, never lets his hand leave his pocket, making the woman think he’s armed. In fact, the gas station of Mr. Komer is just the next on a row of stops where the twosome has entered that evening, each time with the same strategy.
The woman is forced to withdraw the maximum amount of cash with her credit card and hand it over to the criminal.

However as they have probably reached her credit card limit, no money can be withdrawn. At that point, the pair go up to the cashier and try to buy cigarettes. It is at this moment that young Manveer notices something is wrong and just as the pair is about to leave the gas station, he blocks the door for the woman, making it impossible for her to exit.
Manveer said to the woman: “You come stand behind my back. I’ll help you. No problem.”
The robber tries to intimidate Mr Komer but eventually flees the scene. Thanks to GPS tracking on her phone, the criminal was arrested the same evening.
