A manhunt is underway after a violent knife rampage in Vienna, Austria left a mother, a father, and a daughter injured. The three family members are reported to be an Austrian family.

The attack started at 7:45 p.m. local time in front of a Japanese Restaurant but shortly after stabbing the family, the attacker fled the scene and headed towards Praterstern station where he stabbed another victim.

The injured victims have been rushed to the hospital and are expected to survive. The government's tactical police unit has deployed to help local law enforcement locate the suspect. Photos of the scene showed bloody pavement where the family was brutally assaulted in the street.

An investigation is underway but so far the motive for the attack is unknown. Heavily armed police are still in the area guarding doorways and searching for the attacker.

Subway trains in the area were rerouted for safety's sake while police comb the area for the attacker.
