A 15-year-old died in an Atlanta home on Sunday after he was hit by a bullet following the discharge of a gun. The police have issued the confirmation on the teenager’s death.
The incident happened in the 800 block of Mercury Drive. A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department said that the victim was in a bedroom with about three or four other juveniles when the weapon discharged. The spokesperson added, however, that the investigators are still working on the case, trying to establish what exactly happened and who was possibly responsible for the discharging of the gun that killed the teen.
Police also say the victim did not live at the home where the incident happened, and the homeowner was also not at home when the shooting took place.
It is not clear if the group of juveniles was having a party, and if they are friends or are related to each other.
The identity of the victim has yet to be released by the authorities pending the completion of the investigation. It is also not clear at this point if anyone will be charged for the unfortunate death of the teen.
