2018 Oscar Winners And Overview

As the end of Sunday night approaches, all of the winners at the 2018 Oscars have been decided so let's take a look at who won big at this year's most prestigious Hollywood event and some of its most memorable moments.

Starting off the list is the Oscar for the Best Actor In A Leading Role awarded to Gary Oldman for his role in Darkest Hour. When the veteran actor received his award he gave a powerful speech:

"Well… my deepest thanks to the Academy and its members for this … this glorious prize. I owe this and so much more to so many. I've lived in America for the longest time and I’m deeply grateful to her for the many friendships I’ve made and the wonderful gifts it’s given me. My home, my livelihood, and family, and Oscar. The movies such as their power captivated a young man from South London and gave him a dream."

I think this is what Chloe Kim must have felt like after she did back to back 1080s. We all have stories to tell. Invite us into your offices and we’ll tell you all about them."

One of the year's most popular films didn't go unnoticed, Director Guillermo del Toro won the Oscar for best Directing for his fantasy love film The Shape Of Water. Guillermo del Toro also brought us one of the most memorable fantasy films of recent years, Pan's Labyrinth. Del Toro also delivered a politically charged acceptance speech saying, "I am an immigrant. The greatest thing our art does and our industry does is to erase the lines in the sand. We should continue doing that when the world tells us to make them deeper."

Can't believe Star Wars didn't get a single Oscar:( I hope Disney is realizing how bad of a choice Rian Johnson was for directing TLJ. They crossed all their social justice agenda checklists and dotted all their racial T's but still people aren't pleased with the film. I wonder why? It couldn't be because they put politically correct social justice values over good writing and character develpment? No, it's not that at all. The real reason the film did so bad is because all Star Wars fans are just racist and sexist and they don't like women, THAT is why Disney thinks the film didn't do well. Lucasfilm needs to get rid of Kathleen Kennedy asap and replace her with Dave Filoni.
