UK Press Goes Into Overdrive Warning For ‘Red Brexit’ (Video)

The UK Press is a tough enemy to face. Even though most opinion polls thought before the Brexit referendum that a majority of the British public would vote for staying in the European Union, the British tabloids had made their allegiance clear long before the vote.

The Daily Mail and The Sun go for ‘Queen and Country’ all the time. Whatever is foreign is bad, whatever is domestic and thus British, is good.

Their latest target is Mr. Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the opposition Labour party and the one in line set to become the next Prime Minister. Certainly, after he seems to be turning his party’s stance when it comes to Brexit from ‘for but not sure’ to ‘against but not sure’ he’s been like a deer in headlights as far as the British tabloids are concerned.

This week all newspapers ran a story about how he had cooperated in the 1980s with a Czech ‘Communist spy’ and he is portrayed with a Palestinian scarf and a Communist hat at every occasion.

Current PM Theresa May is walking on her last limbs apparently, and with no immediate reliable successor in sight, the tabloids fear they will have to accept Mr. Corbyn as the next Prime Minister.

The problem for them is that he portrays himself, probably at the advice of a Labour marketing team, as centre left, whilst all the youngsters ready to vote for him in droves, know very well that the hard left of Mr. Bernie Sanders in the US, is nothing compared to what Mr. Corbyn has in mind.

Interesting times.
