At the end of last year, supporters of Ukrainian opposition leader Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili (the former Georgian president) set up camp next to the Ukrainian parliament to keep the pressure on the government who they blame for the great number of corruption cases in the country.
A week ago, Ukraine’s President Poroshenko was able to deport Mr. Saakashvili to Poland by stripping him of his nationality and now the time had come to deal with his supporters apparently.

According to Mr. Saakashvili’s supporters "police in riot gear approached from two sides and detained almost all the people in the camp. Trucks started dragging apart and demolishing the barricades."

Meanwhile, the Kiev police claimed they had the law on their side.
"We have two court decisions to inspect and search this area … Then communal workers will clean it up," said Mr. Andriy Kryshchenko, the head of the Kyiv police.

The opposition has been demanding the resignation of Ukraine’s President Poroshenko for months now, claiming that he is stalling reform and simply rewarding his industrial friends.
Meanwhile, in the East, Ukraine continues to be at war with Russian backed rebels.
