A somewhat strange and infinitely disturbing situation to report coming out the North Bay area in Santa Rosa, California - where a prolific feminist erotica-novel author - along with her son - have now been arrested for running a sex ring out of their home.
Authorities say that the feminist erotica writer, 59-year-old Fay Ruth Romesburg, and her 38-year-old son, David Scott Romesburg, were eerily similar to pimps, organizing and operating a prostitution ring that consisted of 150 women.

The duo would lure the women through various promises of security and wealth and then arrange for clients to have sex with the women at one of three properties owned by the pair.
The brothels consisted of numerous locations, including one in the 4000 block of Snyder Lane in Santa Rosa, according to the<a href="http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/8046578-181/santa-rosa-mother-and-son?utm_source=home&utm_medium=top-stories&utm_campaign=pd_study&utm_content=pos_1"> Press Democrat</a>.

The second location used by the pair for their prostitution scheme was also in Santa Rosa, in the 2300 block of Alvarado Avenue.

The investigation first began into the pair last year when the Rohnert Park Police Department received an anonymous tip that a third location in Rohnert Park may have been connected to an underground sex trafficking ring, according to police.
Santa Rosa Police Lt. John Cregan was also investigating the residences in Santa Rosa, after neighbors called in complaints about a suspected brothel in the neighborhood.
During that investigation, officers attempted to enter the residence but were denied entry, with the Romesburg family suggesting they ran a photography business for models inside the home.
"We worked the information we had but we never got enough for probable cause for a warrant," Cregan said. "I can understand some of the frustration in the neighborhood. We could have had a more assertive role on this."
Rohnert Park Police Sgt. Jeff Justice said multiple women were abused by David Romesburg, with at least one of the women claiming she was sexually assaulted by him during her job interview, and a second saying that he would not let her leave the brothel until she paid off a debt to him
Then, on January 26th, undercover Detectives ran a sting operation at a front business in Rohnert Park where they apprehended Fay and her son David as a result of the raid.
At that time both were charged and transported to the Sonoma County Jail on the suspicion of pimping and pandering, human trafficking, and suspicion of money laundering for the front business they operated to hide the proceeds of their prostitution earnings.
As a result of the investigation, all properties own by Fay Romesburg and her son have since been seized by investigators.
From her jail cell, Fay Romesburg spoke to the<a href="http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/8046578-181/santa-rosa-mother-and-son?utm_source=home&utm_medium=top-stories&utm_campaign=pd_study&utm_content=pos_1"> Press Democrat </a>in which she claims the human trafficking charges against her son are "political," and suggesting that any money laundering conspiracy was "ridiculous".
"I'm a writer," said Romesburg. "That's my business.
Romesburg writes under the own name "F.R.R. Mallory," and has numerous titles on Amazon in the erotica genre including "The Kinky Feminist," "Extreme Space: The Domination & Submission Handbook" and "Extreme Space II: Kink Secrets."
"I'm deeply concerned about female empowerment and female sexual empowerment," said Romesburg. "We need to stop treating these women as victims. They are highly intelligent and educated."
The pair have since proclaimed their innocence, saying that they never engaged in any criminal wrongdoings, despite the claims of numerous women.
"I may go to prison," Romesburg said, "but I've only helped women by giving them a safe place to live."
Fay Romesburg is being held in a $245,000 bond and her son David Romesburg is in custody with a $250,000 bond.

"A safe place to live"
You kept 150 women in multiple brothels you pimped them out of. That's empowerment? That's "a safe place to live?"
