Update - Man Streams His Own Murder On Facebook, Killer Arrested

A North Carolina man was shot and killed in Wingate Monday and he caught the whole murder on camera. Union County Sheriff’s Office said Prentis Robinson was walking and streaming to Facebook Live when he was shot multiple times by another black male.

The shooting took place on Jerome Street but was close enough to Wingate University that it sent the campus into a lockdown. Police have identified the suspect as Douglas Colson and questioned him Monday in connection with the murder. It wasn't until investigators learned more information that they issued a warrant for first-degree murder.

Video streamed to Robinson's Facebook account shows him walking down the street with the camera attached to a selfie stick. At one point in the video, Robinson even speaks with Wingate Police Chief Donnie Gay about getting his phone back. "Bring his phone back so he can get on with his way today," Gay says in the video.

Just five minutes later, Robinson is walking when he encounters someone else off-camera. He can be heard saying, "You on live" several times before several shots are fired and the camera falls to the ground. A man with a long black object is visible briefly in the video.

One person in the Live chat commented, "OMG (what) just happened" seconds after the shooting. Eventually, a car pulls up and discovers Robinson's body. According to his Facebook, Robinson was a musician and was featured in several videos playing guitar.

The lockdown at Wingate University was lifted after about an hour and nearby Wingate Elementary was on lockdown from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., according to the school's Facebook.
