House Republican leaders have pulled legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
This was the first major legislative decisioin of Tumps presidency and it failed.
Trump lamented, “We were very close. We had no Democrat Support.”
House Speaker Paul D. Ryan conceded, “We’re going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future.”
At a news conference shortly after the bill was pulled, a flustered Trump said “Let Obamacare explode.” He acknowledged that this was his first major legislative attempt and that they “Couldn’t quite there.”
“Let Obmacare Explode. It’s going to Explode. It’s going to be a very bad,” President Trump warned. He was quick to blame the demorcats for not casting a single vote in favor of the new healthcare bill.
“The losers are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Shumer. Because they now own it.” He expressed willingness to come back to the table “When they all become civilized.”
“We learned a lot about loyalty,” the President continued, “It has been an experience that will lead to a much better healthcare plan.”
There were signs of regret of having to resort to letting Obamacare burn to the ground.
“Now we are going for tax reform.”
