A grand jury has indicted two nurses and an aide on a slew of charges including felony murder in a case exposed by a hidden camera that caught the nurses laughing as a WWII vet slowly died in front of them pleading for help.
In November, the Brookhaven Police Department launched a criminal investigation into the death of 89-year-old James Dempsey after 11Alive uncovered hidden camera video which varied greatly from the depositions given by the nurses in question who responded to the World War II veteran.

Dempsey died at Northeast Atlanta Health and Rehabilitation in 2014 and video show Dempsey calling out for help as he suffered respiratory distress. Nurses ignored his plea and his emergency button indicator for a great length of time and when they finally responded they did nothing to help the dying Dempsey.
Charges were announced Wednesday for the nurses and aide pictured in the video. Former nurse Loyce Pickquet Agyeman, of Snellville, Georgia is charged with felony murder and neglect to an elder person, Wanda Nuckles of Buford is charged with depriving an elder person of essential Services, and Mable Turman is charged with neglect to an elder person.
Georgia Board of Nursing confirmed the three nurses lost their licenses in November 2015 and are now being prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Elder Abuse and Exploitation Unit. No trial date has been set yet.
