Olympics - US Takes Home Halfpipe Gold, Silver, And Bronze Medals

Athletes from the United States competing in the Winter Olympics took home four medals from South Korea. Medals earned by athletes from Reno and Tahoe include a gold from David Wise in ski halfpipe, a gold and silver from Jamie Anderson; and a bronze from Brita Sigourney in the ski halfpipe.

After crashing on his two final runs, the Reno-born and raised David Wise came up with the most clutch run of his career earning himself a whopping 97.20-point run on his final attempt to earn the gold medal for the second time. During his run, Wise executed four 1260's in opposite directions just like his run at the X Games which earned him a gold last month.

Following Wise's lead is Alex Ferreira who posted a 96.4-point third run that landed her the silver medal. New Zealand's Nico Porteous, 16, was close behind and earned bronze with a 94.80.
