Ford – Head Of US Operations Out After ‘Inappropriate Behaviour’

Mr Raj Nair, the head of carmaker Ford's US operations will be stepping down from the company immediately following an internal investigation into inappropriate behaviour.

Ford said it concluded that certain details of Mr Nair's conduct at the helm of the US branch of its company had been "inconsistent” with their internal code of conduct".

Mr Nair made a statement in which he claimed that "I sincerely regret" certain behaviour.

"I sincerely regret that there have been instances where I have not exhibited leadership behaviours consistent with the principles that the company and I have always espoused,"

In response, Ford President and CEO Mr Jim Hackett stated: "We made this decision after a thorough review and careful consideration. Ford is deeply committed to providing and nurturing a safe and respectful culture and we expect our leaders to fully uphold these values."

Mr Nair, a rising star at Ford, had been the President of Ford North America since 1 July of 2017. Before that, he was engaged as head of global product development and chief technical officer.
