Apparently, being humble has become offensive to social justice warriors who have called out Jennifer Lawrence after they say she was rude toward the host of the British Academy of Film and Television awards.
The awards took place over the weekend and the host of BAFTA who Lawrence was allegedly rude toward is Joanna Lumley. Lumley is known for starring in an iconic British comedy series called "Absolutely Fabulous." She took over hosting from Stephen Fry who had previously hosted the awards for 12 years.

The 71-year-old Lumley was presenting an award to Jennifer Lawrence when she allegedly got rude with Lumley. What did she say? Here's how things went. Ahead of the BAFTA Outstanding British Film award presentation, Lumley introduced Lawrence with a bountiful host of compliments.
"And we start with the award for Outstanding British Film, and who better to kick the whole evening off than the hottest actress on the planet?" Lumley said. "Soon to be seen in ‘Red Sparrow,’ it’s the ravishing Jennifer Lawrence!" When Lawrence stepped on stage next to Lumley, she was curt in her response.
"Hi. That was a bit much, but thank you, Joanna," Lawrence said. That's it. That is what has a number of viewers who took to Twitter and other social media to slam her. One Twitter user said,
"I never been so angry as to actually tweet about a celebrity, but that comment to Joanna Lumley was hugely discourteous!!! Get some manners #JenniferLawrence and grow up. You came across as a spoilt brat! Joanna Lumley is thee most kindest lady in your industry. Shame on you!"
Another user said,
"Never liked Jennifer Lawrence. and she was so rude to Joanna Lumley last night. I think Joanna meant hottest as in most in demand not in looks. Either way, Jennifer came off as a stuck-up brat."
After the tirade of abuse slung at Lawrence, other users came to her aid claiming they are blown away by how people are getting offended by Lawrence.
"Puzzled by everyone accusing Jennifer Lawrence of being rude to Joanna Lumley. Joanna introduced her as being the ‘hottest actress on the planet’ & ‘ravishing’. Jennifer laughed and modestly described the compliment as a ‘bit much’ but thanked her for it. How is that rude?"
The slew of comments directed at shaming Lawrence are indicative of a world becoming oversensitive to the slightest remark and choose to infer more from a statement than was actually said based on their own perception of tone or inflection. It's absolutely outrageous.
Lawrence later addressed the claims she was being rude by providing some context to her statement in an interview on Magic Radio. She describes how her remark was sort of an "inside joke" since moments before going on stage the pair discussed what Lumley would say.
Lawrence said Lumley asked her how she would like her to present her and she jokingly replied, "adjective after adjective, tall, beautiful. Just say that I'm this and I'm that and she was like alright." So when Lawrence got on stage and was welcomed by Lumley's extensive praise she jokingly said, "that was a bit much."
