Continuing his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 US Presidential election, special counsel Robert Mueller is down to, with all due respect, scraping the barrel as he charged a lawyer for ‘making false statements to FBI agents’.

Mr Alex Van Der Zwaan, the son-in-law of Russian oligarch German Khan, allegedly made the statements in November 2017 when he was interviewed about his work with a law firm hired in 2012 by the Ukraine Ministry of Justice.
According to the suit, Mr Van Der Zwaan “willfully and knowingly make materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements.”
As he is an associate at a London law firm and is of Dutch origin, we will estimate that he made those statement in 2012 at around the age of 25 then.

In details, Mr Van Der Zwaan was charged with lying to investigators about conversations related to a report he helped prepare on the trial of a Ukrainian politician, Yulia Tymoshenko.
Furthermore, prosecutors claim that Mr Van Der Zwaan also deleted and failed to turn over emails requested by the special counsel and a law firm.
According to the young man’s LinkedIn page Van Der Zwaan, he is an associate in the London office of prominent New York law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.

He is married to Eva Khan, the daughter of Russian-Ukrainian oligarch German Khan, who has a net worth at $9.7 billion.
