It happened at Western Guilford Middle School in Greensboro and was sparked after the teacher took away student Jose Escudero’s Valentine’s Day chocolates which he had received from some girl.

Young Mr Escudero explained to local press after the images went viral that the teacher took away the candy, and when he tried to retrieve the sweets and put them in his backpack, the teacher body-slammed him to the ground.

The substitute teacher was identified as 49-year-old Mr Paul Stennett.

Guilford County Schools’ Chief of Staff Nora Carr made a statement afterwards: “This kind of behavior toward a student is disturbing and unacceptable. We reported the behavior to law enforcement and will no longer employ this person as a substitute teacher or in any other GCS position.”

Fuller story.

Teacher confiscated the sweets the student was eating class after being warned. Teacher placed the contraband in the classroom sink.

At the end of class the student snuck past the teacher an attempted to retrieve the confiscated sweets in direct conflict of a teachers directions.

The Student proceeded to argued with teacher about the sweets, engaged in a pushing, pulling, shoving situation and physically escalated the situation to the point the teacher defended himself from further physical contact.

Yes the teacher went over board and should have called on the Principle or admin Staff.

But this kind of behavior toward a TEACHER by a student is disturbing and unacceptable.

The Control of a classroom means students MUST follow lawful directions of the Teacher teach and conduct a class.

Of course things may have changed since I was in school (61-74 and taught tech school (87-89), but eating and drinking class was NOT ALLOWED.

once God and discipline or part of every school. now the discipline and God have been removed there are no hope for our children. things like this never happened when I was a child or when my mother was a child or when my grandmother was a child why because we had God and discipline. and if the teachers couldn't take care of it my parents did.

If you look at the very first part of the video, the kids arms are around the teacher and the teachers arms are underneath the kids body.

How is that a Body Slam on the part of the teacher?
