Butler County, Ohio's Republican Sheriff Jones Offering Free Handgun Training for School Teachers

In Butler County, Ohio, the Sheriff is now offering teachers who work in public schools an opportunity to protect the lives of their students with firearms training for them to properly carry a weapon inside of schools to prevent another school shooting tragedy.

Republican Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones is one of Ohio's bravest patriots in law enforcement, who has throughout the years remained vocal on his firm values and beliefs as a leader in the community.

For those unaware, Butler County is a community in Ohio which is in-between both the greater Cincinnati and Dayton areas, where there are 83 public schools and nearly 60,000 students.

Now, Sheriff Jones is offering school teachers or administrative staff within those schools a chance to arm themselves against any and all potential threats to the children they love and protect, with free concealed carry training to save the lives of Butler County's most important asset, the children.

"I believe that school teachers should be taught how to deal with guns when guns come to the classroom," Sheriff Jones said. "What guns can do when they come to the classroom, and if the school boards want to give the authority to teachers to be armed. The school boards can do that, they have the authority to do it, but I'm going to do my part, and I assume I'm probably the only one in the state of Ohio that's doing that but something has to happen."

According to Sheriff Jones, his plan has received an enormously positive response from those within the community and schools within all surrounding districts of Butler County.

Parents want to keep their children safe, and so do teachers, who love those children as if they were their own.

Such a tactic is one that has the support of the majority of Conservative and traditional values Americans from both sides of the aisle and is the exact "common sense" response needed to tragedies such as the most recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

With overwhelming applause for his offer, Sheriff Jones has made national headlines yet again.

Guaranteeing that your children are safe and protected is a concern and promise that schools intend to make to parents, and there's no better response to such a horrific event than promoting positive gun training and safety for the very people who are tasked with educating our children.

There are schools across the United States of America where the teachers, principals, and security all carry firearms inside of the schools as well as being trained proper safety and gun protocols to ensure that there is no risk posed to students.

In each of the tragedies involving school shootings in America, there has yet to be a card-carrying, trained NRA member who has been responsible for the atrocity. The majority of Americans who rightfully train to carry a concealed weapon, and practice such safety techniques, tend to be safer against threats from would-be criminals than a citizen who doesn't use the power of their Second Amendment right to protect themselves.

In the end, the only thing that can stop an armed perpetrator from shooting innocent people and potentially taking innocent lives is another well-trained, armed American citizen that values their own life and the people they love.

As Americans, we have the Second Amendment, and it's our duty as citizens of this country to utilize every Constitutional weapon we have to ensure that our children can learn without fear inside of their place of education. Arming teachers, and any staff inside of America's public school systems could be one of the best policies recommended to date to deter such tragic mass shootings.

Why don't we protect our children with guns also? Gun free zones are obviously not the answer. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SundayMorning?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#SundayMorning</a> <a href="https://t.co/5jVA571Scw">pic.twitter.com/5jVA571Scw</a></p>&mdash; Angelo Ray Gomez (@AngeloRayGomez) <a href="https://twitter.com/AngeloRayGomez/status/965227926911303680?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 18, 2018</a></blockquote>

<strong><span style="color:red;">Second Amendment: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."</span></strong

If a would-be school shooter sees a sign that says "gun-free zone," they're likely to feel confident walking onto such premises with the intent to kill.

If a would-be school shooter sees a sign that says "our teachers are armed and licensed to shoot," they're far less likely to risk the danger posed to such a crime. If they do, they're no doubt more likely to be stopped by an armed citizen.

I would undoubtedly feel safer as a parent sending my child to a public school where I know several teachers or administrative staff are carrying firearms and are trained to use them to defend against any would-be threats.

With Sheriff Jones offering this beneficial training to teachers and school staff within Butler County, it hopes to create a trend which continues to spread across the nation.

Protecting children should be the first priority of every school and every teacher inside the United States of America, and in 2018 there is no better way to do this than to receive the proper training necessary to not only protect yourself as an employee of a school district but to promise that you have a fighting chance to save the lives of the innocent children left in your care.

Teachers across the country must consider this option, in the wake of endless tragedies, as a measure which could save a life.

If arming a teacher saves a single life, rational and logical Americans see this a beneficial solution, along with finding new means of understanding how law enforcement shares information on mentally ill criminals.

While this isn't going to stop all school shootings by any means, it will no doubt guarantee that the likelihood of school shootings will be decreased in Butler County.

God forbid such a horror would occur, being armed gives the teacher the ability to stop the gunman.

Thank you, Sheriff Richard Jones, the entire nation is grateful for your compassion and courage to take such a proactive step to help save lives.

Excellent….that's exactly what we need. Put all teachers through mandatory training and show them how to use the gun. I've been saying it for years.
