President Donald Trump will soon be getting some help from one of his most trusted persons. She also happens to be one of the closest to him.
Trump's daughter, Ivanka, will get an office at the West Wing as she will serve as an informal adviser to her father.
Ivanka will not receive a salary for her role as she will not be considered a federal employee. Along with the office, she will receive a government-issued communications device. The device will protect government records and sensitive information that Ivanka will be able to see. She will get a security clearance that will allow her to view important and secret documents.
Although Ivanka will only serve as an informal adviser to the President, the same strict ethics rule for government employees will apply to her.
Intelligent, educated, classy and well-spoken, Ivanka is long considered to be one of the most influential persons to President Trump. She was active in the campaign, advising him on many important issues, especially those that are close to her heart like women and children's concerns. She is also considered by many as the First Lady in effect since Melania is still in New York to take care of her son. It is also well-known that her father listens to her.
Ivanka admits that her taking on a role in the White House is something that has never been done in recent history among presidential children. She promises to continue giving her father candid advice and counsel like what she has been doing her entire life. She also said that she will follow all ethics rules for government officials.
Ivanka worked as executive vice president of the Trump Organization and ran her own fashion brand. She resigned from those positions before her father was sworn in. Her husband Jared Kushner was appointed as senior adviser to the President.
Ivanka is long considered her father's secret weapon and has known to provide a calming presence to her father's strong personality. She could very well be his voice of reason.
