Iran is under fire again for its child execution records. The country topped the list in the execution of juvenile offenders in 2016 and it is expected to do so again when the official 2017 number are released.

According to an Amnesty International report, the Islamic country has registered 73 executions of minors between 2005 and 2015. For 2018, some believe that the number will be far higher than anything ever seen before as the Theocratically ruled Islamic country started the year by executing 3 children in January.

Although Iran has signed two international treaties that clearly prohibit capital punishment for offenses committed by minors, the country has not stopped from being the worst international offender when it comes to executing such juveniles, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights announced on Friday in a statement.

The statement read: "I am sad to say that Iran violates this absolute prohibition under international human rights law far more often than any other state."

"No other state comes even remotely close to the total number of juveniles who have been executed in Iran over the past couple of decades."

The latest execution included a girl who had murdered her abusive husband at the age of 16. Miss Mahboubeh Mofidi was 13 years old when she married her husband. Three years later, she killed him with the help of her brother-in-law.
