The government of Cambodia has, under pressure from multiple foreign embassies, decided to release the seven expats it had jailed after the group of youngsters had been caught ‘pornographic dancing’.

After images emerged on social media of people appearing to imitate sex acts at a party in Siem Reap in the country's north-west, Cambodian police surrounded the compound and arrested all 77 expats inside of the villa.

After questioning, ten of them were kept in prison. Seven of those, all millennials from the UK, New Zealand, and Canada, had been granted bail last week and have by now left the country. However, Cambodia is still keeping three of them jailed, nationals from the UK, Norway and the Netherlands who will have to face trial for allegedly organizing the party.

Two Canadian girls who were among those arrested, Miss Eden Kazoleas, 19, from Drayton Valley, and Miss Jessica Drolet, 26, from Ottawa, were interviewed at arrival back in Canada.

Miss Kazoleas: "It was terrifying. I think the main reason it was so scary is because obviously we didn't speak the native language, so we were often very confused by what was happening."

All 10 meanwhile continue to deny the allegations brought on against them, claiming they have not been nude at any moment during the party and that they did not produce any ‘pornographic material’ as the Cambodian police alleged.

The town of Siem Reap, where the events took place, is very close to the ruins of Angkor Wat, which is Cambodia's main tourist attraction.
