Law enforcement officers in Houston, Texas say they've responded to a horrific scene of a domestic murder in front of four young children.
An apparent argument between husband and wife that became overtly heated led to the husband shooting his wife.
Houston Police Department spokeswoman Jodi Silva said that 35-year-old Daniel Martinez pulled out a firearm in front of his three children before shooting and killing his wife 33-year-old Claudia Arriaga, after an argument, according to the<a href="http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/article199523494.html"> Herald. </a>

The argument allegedly began in the bedroom of the home, where the couples 13-year-old son attempted to disrupt the argument between the pair.
After the child's father could no longer be calmed down, he shot his wife in front of the children, prompting the thirteen-year-old to call emergency 911.
The suspect then fled the scene before police could arrive and hid the weapon used in the murder.
Upon arrival to the residence in the 2400 block of Moreau Street, emergency medical responders pronounced Miss Arriaga dead from the fatal wounds she received during the shooting.
Police were able to later locate Martinez and talk him into peacefully surrendering and telling them the location of the weapon used to kill his wife.

<a href="https://amp.click2houston.com/news/man-shoots-kills-wife-in-ne-houston-police-say"> Click 2 Houston </a>reports that the children included a 17-year-old girl, 13-year-old boy, 12-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, who will all now be placed into the custody of their aunt.
Martinez has now been charged with first degree murder and is being detained without bond at the Harris County Jail.
He's set for a court appearance on Monday to be formally arraigned in front of a judge.
