Henry County sheriff's Deputy Michael Corley was shot Friday while serving a warrant in Locust Grove, Georgia. Wade Corley, the brother of Henry County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Corley, was shot in the left side of his chest and the shot penetrated his bullet-proof vest.

"They were serving a warrant and it just went south," Wade Corley said.

Wade Corley said he received a call from the Henry County Sheriff's Office saying his brother been shot.

"So I'm going crazy and then they pass the phone to my brother," he said. "At the time Michael didn't know if he was going to make it and he asked me to pray for him."

49-year-old Michael Corley, also asked to see his sons. "Get those boys to me as fast you can," he said he heard his brother saying.

The families of all of the officers shot are in complete shock. Such a terrible experience isn't one they're accustomed to in Henry County, which is a close-knit community of friends and neighbors.

The suspect has yet to be identified other than police saying he's a "life-long criminal," and that they're thankful nobody else was injured.

The Goldwater sends our thoughts and prayers to all of the families of the officers in this horrible tragedy.

It's pertinent that law enforcement officers be commended for the risks and dangers they face every day when they put on the uniform and lace up their boots to protect and serve.

If you see a Police Officer or Sheriff's Deputy, be sure to "back the blue". Support the Police, and thank them for their service.

This is a breaking story, we will update as information comes in.

This less than 5 miles from my location.

There is more to the story than just traffic related bench warrants.

With ATF Bomb guys and other fed's along with GBI now present at the scene.

The Locust Grove Police Officer that was murdered was 26 , married, a father and they expecting their 2nd child to be born in a few days.

While locals have the ID of the shooter , there appears to be a news PC avoidance of some type being applied by the media.

Black-American was the Murderer / shooter and was allowed to assume room temperature.

While we are likely to see the usual out of state Race Pimps show up demanding justice.

I can assure anyone, in our community we ( White and Black community members) don't put up with outside radicals or trouble makers.
